3rd Squirrels Heath Sea Scout Troop

We are an active Sea Scout Group in Gidea Park, Essex, but as a consequence of us being the only Sea Scout Troop in the area we attract young people from all over the surrounding Districts.  Our Scout District sits between Romford and Hornchirch District.

The 3rd Squirrels Heath Group was first registered on 16th May 1930 as the 2nd Gidea Park and later changed its name when the new Squirrels Heath District was formed in the late 1950's.

Each year the Scout Group provides over 1,000 hours of fun for young people, friendship and adventure for its members, with a huge range of activities including:- abseiling, athletics, barbecues, bell boating, bonfire nights, bowling, camping, camp fires, canoeing, climbing, cooking, DIY, expeditions, first aid, hiking, hill walking, HQ decoration, jamboree's, modelling, karting, pancakes, quizzes, rafting, road safety, sailing, swimming, tree planting and visits to places of interest.  We regularly travel around the country making new Scouting friends from Somerset to Cumbria

We are a mixed troop and welcome Scouts of both sexes.  We are fortunate in that we have very experienced Scout Leaders with the skills and qualifications to develop our Scouts into upstanding individuals.
